Alcohol And sports

Alcohol and sports don't go to together. If you are into sports and want to achieve expert levels, then there are some things that you have to consider. 

That it's okay to drink some time during a week. Maybe once or a week, its okay. However if you drink more or you do binge drinking, you will not recover faster, which can be a problem if you want to excel in any sports that you are in. 

There are many reasons behind this. Following are few reasons:

1) Alcohol has 7 calories per gram of alcohol which is almost what a fat has. Fat has 8 calories per gram. If you ingest extra calories you will have a problem to perform your best whatever sport that you have chosen because extra calories will increase your weight. 

2) You will have a hangover and you will not be able to perform at your optimal level. Your body will feel lethargic and you wont feel like performing to your best level.

3) Muscle is made of 70% water and alcohol is supposed to be something that absorbs water from your muscles. This is what makes you feel hydrated when you wake in the morning after heavy drinking and your throat is parched and you are reaching for a glass of water. I think I prefer keeping at least 2 or 3 bottles next to my bed when I know I drank a lot. In that case, I know I wont get short of water in my body whenever I do binge drinking.

The point is that if you are dehydrated and you cannot perform next day. If you are working out in the gym, you will realize that you are unable to pick lot of weight and you will find weights that are heavier.

If you are an athlete and you are running on a track, you will not be able to get the results you need.

Some people say that usually when you drink for one day , you can’t perform at optimal level for one week. I don’t have any facts right now to support this however I have seen some times that when you drink a lot on weekend, my body usually takes maybe around 2 to 3 days to recover.

That is a lot and something you don’t wanna do if you want to the best at the sport that you want to master.
